Bali is a proclaimed foodie hotspot, with hundreds of beautiful cafes and restaurants spread across the island. In the beginning of January I took myself and two of my closest friends on a three week vacation to Bali, where we stayed in Canggu (Influencer heaven), Ubud and Gili Trawangan (Lombok). As three Uni students we were on a tight budget, only taking $2000 (AUD) to fund our entire 3 week vacay. We had booked a combination of hostels and villas to stay in, with some of our accomodation only costing $14 (AUD) a night. Although on a budget, we were still able to live it up in Bali, I am a massive foodie and instagram wannabee so I could not wait to check out the foodie scene and find the best insta-worthy and budget friendly cafes on the scene. I decided to make it my mission of the trip to find just a few of the best insta worthy cafe' s Bali had to offer.

  1. Crate Cafe (Canggu)

Coming in hot at number one was Crate Cafe. This cafe was a hidden gem, we found in Canggu when we accidently took a wrong turn heading back to our villa. We saw a massive open concrete building, surrounded by rice paddies, packed full of influencers, expats and young tourists, hanging out, working or just enjoying the food. The menu was a brunch lovers heaven, with all day brunch offered from smashed avo on toast, smoothie bowls, halloumi cheese salads to bruschetta and ham & cheese croissants . We were so shocked at how large the servings were when our food arrived as the prices were so cheap. We came here a few times whilst in Canggu, as we loved the relaxed atmosphere accompanied by fantastic food, which was so pretty you just had to catch a snap for your insta feed.

2. Kynd Community (Seminyak)

Located in Seminyak Bali, this 100% plant based Cafe was also 100% instagram worthy, with an all pink interior, it was breathtaking . To head to this cafe we used Go-Jek to arrive by scooter, from where we were staying in Ubud. The price was around 90 cents in Australian Dollars. My friends were vegetarian and one was also lactose intolerant, they were both so happy with the large menu with heaps of delicious items. I chose to order an acai bowl, which was almost too pretty to eat, as the words "Bali" had been cut out of a piece of mango and were displayed on the top of the bowl, I just had to snap a pic. I also ordered a caramel iced latte, made with almond milk this was a recommended item on the menu, it was so good one of the best coffees I had whilst in Bali.

3. Lola's Shakin All Day (Canggu)

I had hands down my favorite smoothie ever, here at Lola's! The smoothie was made with banana, dates, cacao, almonds milk and a shot of coffee, it was the perfect morning bevvy, refreshing yet delicious . One of my favourite parts about the smoothie was that it was topped with cacao nibs, banana and mint. The brunch spread we got looked so gorg with acai bowls, smashed avo and our smoothies it was too hard to not to catch a snap. Also Lola's has the perfect place to take a new insta piccy with Shake Baby Shake sprawled across the front window, you just have to get a picture. Trust me if you head to Lola's you will not leave disappointed.

4. Acai Queen Bar (Ubud)

This was the first place I got to try Acai in Bali and I have to say I was not disappointed. The Acai Queen Bar was the first place to bring Acai to Bali. I am a massive Acai lover, and this was one of the best Acai bowls I have ever had.The highlight for me of this bowl was the coconut cream on top, it was so sweet and fluffy. Also the pineapple shaped

bowl that the acai came in was just too cute. This acai bowl was so colourful with mango, strawberries, banana, granola and coconut cream on top. The interior of the cafe is perfect for an instagram pic with swinging cane chairs to relax in whilst eating your acai as well as cute saying on the floor to ensure that your pictures of your acai are insta worthy. The only problem with this place, is that you will love it so much you will keep coming back. I am guilty of coming here thee times over the course of my vacation as I just loved it so much.

These are just four of the most insta-worthy cafes I found on a uni students budget. These cafe's are perfect for any insta wannabes, food lovers or just students wanting a delicious and cheap meal in Bali. I can't wait to eventually head back to Bali and to find some more insta-worthy cafes or restaurants to share with you.
