As you have probably gathered I am a fiend for any Acai or Smoothie Bowl. Whenever I head out for brunch, I always scope the menu to see if they are offering up any Acai.
Acai berries are really healthy and packed with antioxidants. Acai is also claimed to improve your sex life, as it is an aphrodisiac, who doesn't love that ; ). Did you know that Acai or the Acai berry actually originated in Brazil. In Brazil Acai is actually eaten as a desert, often mixed with condensed milk and chocolate nesquik. How do you know all this you ask? Well actually my best friend is Brazilian and she was the one who opened my eyes to the wonderful world of Acai and she fuelled my addiction to this white girl wonder of what we call the Acai bowl. Anyhow, my love for Acai, has led me to finding all the yummiest Acai bowls around, I mean I would drive an hour and a half just to get a great Acai bowl.
I could go on and on but let's get into my Acai bowl discoveries
1. Fruitologist (Rozelle)

My favorite Acai and Smoothie bowls ever, the Fruitologist in Rozelle is a hidden gem, with a small cafe incorporated into a whole foods grocery store, they dish out some of
the yummiest Acai to be found. I have been here that often that I am pretty sure I have tried every Acai/smoothie bowl on the menu. However, my favorite has to be the OG acai with added peanut butter, the acai blend, is strawberries, banana, frozen watermelon and Acai, it is so so yummy and perfect for a hot summer's day or after finishing a walk around the Bay. The other smoothie bowls I have tried are

The Blue Coco Magik, which was blended with banana , coconut and spirulina (which gave it the blue appearance). This tasted like coconut sorbet it was delicious, I wish I added Peanut butter to this one too, as it would have been delish. I also liked the fact that this bowl had Spirulina added, because it has so many great health benefits including, reducing cholesterol, improving gut health and boots the metabolism. The other bowl I have tried is the Pink Pitaya Bowl with gluten free granola (love that they have this option). This bowl was really refreshing with pitaya, banana and strawberries in the mix. It was really fruity and summery. The only thing I didn't love about this bowl was the pitaya seeds as they kept getting caught in my teeth, but hey, it was still really yummy. If you are an Acai lover like me please go here, it is worth it .

2. D-Bowls (Cronulla)
A famous Acai Bowl place whom influencer @sarahsday mentions visiting numerous times. I had to check it out , although I live almost an hour and a half away from D-Bowls which is located in Cronulla. I still dragged my boyfriend whom at the time was an Acai bowl virgin to come get a taste of the Acai bowls that D-bowls were dishing up. When checking out D-bowls instagram before visiting, I was so excited when they highlighted that they serve up traditional brazilian acai, I wanted to see if it tasted any different to the Acai I had previously been having and because I had heard my best friend constantly telling me how much better brazilian acai is. When we rocked up here we were starving and ready to get our hands on a bowl. They had heaps of options for Acai toppings and even a few different Acai mixes. I just stuck with the original with added peanut butter on top like usual. The toppings also included banana, strawberries and granola. I was shocked when they called out my name to collect my Acai, as the bowl was ginormous, like honestly huge.

I mean not going to lie I wasn't complaining I always have enough room to fit in Acai. The flavour of the Acai was actually a little different to what I was used to but I really liked it. It tasted a lot sweeter than usual. I should have asked what was in the mix, they may have added some honey. The acai looked like icecream in the bowl, as it came out in scoops and as my brazilian friend claims, thats how it is supposed to be served, I am used to it being blended and served up, but it was still really good like this.
3. Acai Bros (Manly)
One hot summer's day, my friends and I headed to Manly for some Mexican food and a swim at the beach, low and behold, we stumbled across Acai Bros as we were making our way back to the car at the end of the day. We all craved something refreshing and sweet so this was the perfect stop. I loved the wide variety of bowls they were serving up, from a chocolate lovers dream to fresh and fruity. They met everyone's Acai aspirations.I of course went for the Mango one, with refreshing Mango pieces, strawberries and Mango coulee and coconut. It really curbed my cravings and made me feel so refreshed. The others went for the chocolate option, with chocolate ganache, cacao nibs, strawberry and banana. They loved their chocolatey bowls. I would totally recommend Acai Bros if you are heading into Manly, honestly delish. I would go Acai over ice cream any day.

4.All things Acai Co
I discovered All Things Acai Co, when I attended the Sydney Vegan Markets for the first time. We went on a summer's afternoon, so I was ecstatic when I saw that their was a stall serving up Acai bowls. I waited anxiously in the line, overwhelmed with all the different Acai bowls they had on the menu, but of course I went with the chocolate hazelnut one, I mean come on, it was going to taste like nutella. The best part about these bowls is that they use all natural ingredients, using cacao to add the chocolate element, crushed up hazelnuts and a bit of peanut butter. These bowls are gluten, dairy and refined sugar free. Please check out All things Acai Co, their Acai is soo delicious and they have so many great options you will want to try all of them.

That's it for today foodies, just a few of the best Acai places I have found across Sydney. Shoot me a DM or drop a comment below if you have any recommendations for more Acai bowls, help a girl out on her Acai hunting mission.
